You doctors will ask you following questions:

- the history of your illness

- depression
- anxiety
- substance abuse
For Additional Tests, your doctor may also need to do following steps:
• Blood tests
• Imaging studies (x-ray, CT, MRI, nuclear scans, ultrasound)
• Dye-injection studies such as a diskogram to identify painful disks in the spine or
myelogram to identify areas of spinal nerve compression
• Electromyography and nerve conduction studies to identify nerve abnormalities
Your doctor will also perform a physical examination, and may order blood tests or X-rays. Tests used to diagnose the cause of pain may include:

- Bone scans:
- Ultrasound imaging:
